The Wilson School was built in the 1840s for the children of neighbors Thomas Simpson and Stuart Wilson. It was built in the front yard of Wilson’s property in Madison Township. A teacher was hired and boarded by the family, under the condition that she could satisfactorily teach the children Latin using Cicero. [1]
