Allan Pitcock (September 6, 1928 - December 13, 2002) was a fifth grade teacher at Miller Elementary School for 25 years, working into his 60s, despite having a heart attack and prostate cancer. In his spare time, Pitcock was a decoy artist, selling his work to 40 shops across the East Coast. He loved carving fish, birds and other animals. After his retirement, Pitcock added on to his collection of shoreline animals with seals and whales. He also began carving lighthouses. [1]
