Smoketown was once located in the northern part of Licking County in Burlington Township. In Smoketown’s hay day, it served as a trading post. A local farmer paid tribute to the old town in the 1980's by painting its name on the side of his barn, located on Lake Fork Road, serving as the only visible reminder of the former village. [1]
