Rosanna Moore (March 29, 1924 - October 2, 2011) was an art teacher at Watkins Memorial High School for 20 years, but retired in 1981. After this, she became more active in the medium she was passionate about (woodcarving) with the Land of Legend Woodcarvers. One year, she made 600 bird pins, lending her the nickname “Bird Lady.” Although she used her love of birds for artistic inspiration, she said that some of her favorite pieces were geometrical shapes.
