Rain Rock was built in the 19th century at the intersection of Rainrock Road and Bodle Road in Eden Township. The town was named after the many large rocks that can be found in the area, which look like they had been ‘sprinkled from heaven.’ Today, the settlement is gone, but the rocks can be seen along Rainrock Road, which serve as a reminder of the town that was once there.
