Diane Powell is the artist who designed and created the statue in front of the Granville Public Library. It displays two young people reading. Powell, who was living in Delaware at the time, has since moved to New York and consequently missed the statue’s unveiling in June of 1983. In 1991, she was invited to a reception at the library to finally view her statue for the first time. [1]
