The Balthis Inn was once located on U.S. 40 in Brownsville. During the 1940s and 1950s, the Inn acted as a restaurant, and it catered mostly to travelers. However, once I-70 was constructed, it started to lose popularity and business. The building is now over 170 years old and is no longer used as an inn or restaurant. As time passed, the building became a pottery retailer and later became a residence.[1]
