Licking County has been home to a number of storms and weather disasters over the years.

Burlington Storm

The Burlington Storm has become famous for the tornado that swept the county on May 18th, 1825. [1] The storm originated in Delaware County and then traveled several miles before it made its way into Licking County in the afternoon. While the tornado only touched down for about two minutes, it had devastating effects. Forest and orchards were completely uprooted and buildings demolished in a matter of seconds. Three deaths were reported. [2]
