Larry and Kathie Morrison opened Buckeye Winery in early 2007 at 7 North Third Street in Newark. After a few years, the couple found they needed more space to produce their wines, so they purchased the former Discovery Church at 25 North Third Street, which is the site of the historic American House hotel. By 2009, the company was producing 5,000 gallons of wine, ranging from fruit wine, ice wine, and other forms of wine.[1]
