Chance Brockway was born in Buckeye Lake in 1918. He photographed The Ohio State Buckeyes for over 40 years, but Brockway started taking pictures when he was just a kid with a 97-cent Univex camera.[1] His work has appeared in a number of famous publications including Sports Illustrated and a cover on TV Guide. Although he was most well-known for his work with OSU, he covered everything from the Super Bowl to the Kentucky Derby.[2] [3]

Brockway was also very proud of his hometown and its history. Later in his life, he wrote three local history books including Images of America: Buckeye Lake and Images of America: Newark. His pride for his community and talent are still remembered, even after his death in 2007. [4]
