Mildred Priest (November 16, 1905 - December 3, 1996) was honored in 1997 with a posthumous art showing at the LeFevre Art Gallery on Ohio State Newark’s campus. It was estimated that she completed around 180 paintings during her lifetime, mostly oil landscapes. She began painting in her late 40s at the suggestion of her doctor for a stress-relief technique. Her art was successfully shown in many galleries during her lifetime as well, earning numerous awards. [1]
