Jim Miller (May 3, 1922 - November 8, 2005) was a watchmaker and woodcarver during retirement. His deep basswood relief won him Intermediate Best of Show at a Columbus Chippers Exposition in 1990. He won first place with a painted wood caricature of a Civil War officer and second place with an African buffalo head and Indian bust. Miller was also a U.S. Army veteran.[1]
