Thomas Dow Jones
From Licking County Library's Wiki!
Thomas Dow Jones (December 12, 1811—February 27, 1881) was a famous sculptor from New York. At the age of 26, he moved to Licking County with his family. [1] Jones is said to be the only person to ever sculpt Abraham Lincoln in a live-setting. [2] One works of art attributed to Jones, but questioned by some, is the famous “Firebug” face on the former First National Bank building in Newark, Ohio. [3] The building is now an office building on the southwest corner of the Courthouse Square at Third Street and Park Place. <ref1> Charles A.
