George Fisher (February 21, 1906 - May 27, 1983) was a Licking County artist. He spent his life painting and decorating, mostly theaters and churches. During his retirement, Fisher worked on woodcarvings and repairing antique furniture. In 1980, he won first place at a Columbus show sponsored by the National Wood Carvers Association with a wood carving of a sheriff cartoon he saw in a magazine. [1]
