Avondale was located on the northeast end of Buckeye Lake along Avondale Road and Licking Road. Avondale was home to a railroad station for the Straitsville Division of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad at Buckeye Lake. Avondale also provided for people a popular resort named the Avondale House. [1]
