There are a number of Lutheran churches littered all throughout Licking County. The first was St. John's Evangelical Luther Church in Franklin Township, founded in 1817 by German immigrants, and stands as the oldest Lutheran congregation in Licking County. [1] The present sanctuary was dedicated in 1897. [2]
