The Central Ohio Technical College was established in 1971, as an addition to the [[Ohio State University-Newark Campus | Ohio State University at Newark]] campus. During the first year, 114 students were enrolled in the school. Since then, over 10,000 students have graduated from the college. The Central Ohio Technical College has long prided itself on the flexibility of its classes. Many classes are offered early in the morning or late in the evening so that older students have a better opportunity to attend. The college recognizes that many students are working on changing career fields but still need to be able to work as they earn their degrees.
